The scale of the sign is not out of character with the central city environment, which contains a mix of commercial, retail, office and restaurant activities and associated on and off-site signage.
The conditions of consent will ensure that the sign operates in such a manner that the contents will not distract or dazzle transport corridor users.
The applicant has provided a Traffic Assessment that confirms the proposed sign will maintain the safety and efficiency of the transport network in this location.
A condition of consent has been imposed to ensure a Licence to Occupy and/or approval for the encroachment into the airspace above the adjacent transport corridor/s is sought.
Having regard to section 104 of the Act, the actual and potential adverse effects on the environment of granting consent are acceptable as the proposal is consistent with the relevant objectives and policies and assessment criteria, and will promote the sustainable management of natural and physical resources.
