It is good news for lovers of Good George brews who live in Hamilton north, with the opening of a second craft beer brewery and pub due in March.

Good George owner Jason Macklow says he has always been interested in opening an outlet in Rototuna.

“I was always interested in this particular area, and the massive success of Good George in the last year really inspired us to take that brand to another level.

“It’s not just going to be about Good George beer, it is more than that.”

Good Neighbour will be on a smaller scale to the popular Frankton-based Good George.

The concept of Good Neighbour is one Jason wants to roll out across other towns and regions, and says this is the prototype for a potentially strong Waikato brand.

He says the new site will be more food based, and they are currently putting a menu together, with signature dishes and gourmet pizzas.
