Retail in Industrial Zone

The amenity values and the quality of the natural environment in the area will be maintained and enhanced. These objectives allow industrial, retail activities and some non-industrial activities to operate that are consistent with industrial land uses and will maintain the amenity of the area. The proposed activities simply service the surrounding residential and industrial sites, reducing travel demand.

Whilst the retail and wholesale are not industrial activities, they are compatible with the existing mixed commercial and light industrial uses on the site and in the surrounding environment as was approved by consent (10/2004/7661). The amenity and character effects on the immediate environment will be minimal as the scale; form and location of the centre have been designed to integrate with the adjacent industrial/commercial uses.
