Adding a new roof top floor
The applicant is seeking consent to upgrade the buildings by adding a new floor for an office.
Occupying a prominent site on the corner of Bryce and Barton Streets this refurbishment project seeks to connect two existing buildings and reintroduce a singular architectural language. Both existing buildings were originally designed and constructed concurrently sharing the same clean modernist lines. However, over time these similarities became obscured by subsequent makeovers. The design seeks to selectively reinstate and accentuate certain elements while editing out awkward existing junctions and details. A new shared lobby between occupies the previously vacant space between buildings and will provide a street level entry to a new roof top office and communal space.
